Wedi Oloko, oncologist attached to Pietersburg Hospital and a member of Rotary for the last six years, was inducted as President of the Rotary Club of Polokwane for 2019/20 during a prestigious gala dinner at Pietersburg Club last Thursday evening.
Oloko thanked outgoing President Antoaneta Atanasova-Letsoalo and her board for the hard work done during the 2018/19 term and assured the Rotarians that he will continue to be the driver of the club’s projects.
“I am convinced that, as previously, the club will remain united around the ideals and objectives of the organisation and bring their contributions for the improvement of the livelihood of our fellow human beings,” Oloko said.
“Service above self has always been a moral part of my life from a young age, growing up in the Congo. I have been in South Africa for 28 years and that call never changed,” Oloko added.
