#WFD – Crunchy Chicken Stir Fry

This delicious recipe takes 20 minutes to prepare and 25 minutes to cook.

POLOKWANE – A stiry fry can be a lekker, healthy dinner for you and the family and it’s even better eaten with traditional Chinese chop sticks.

Stir Frying is a cooking technique in which ingredients are fried in a small amount of very hot oil while being stirred in a wok.

Many claim that this quick, hot cooking seals in the flavors of the foods, as well as preserving their color and texture.

Ingredients

  1. 400g chicken breast fillet, sliced into thin strips
  2. 5ml Robertsons Ginger
  3. 2ml Robertsons Coriander
  4. 1ml Robertsons Cinnamon
  5. 30ml sunflower oil
  6. 2 x sticks celery, sliced
  7. 6 x spring onions, chopped
  8. 250ml bean sprouts
  9. cashew nuts, toasted (to garnish)
  10. 1 x sachet KNORR Chicken Noodle Soup
  11. 200ml boiling water
  12. 10ml honey
  13. 15ml soy sauce
  14. 125ml apple juice

Method

  1. Rub the spices into the chicken and set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Add boiling water to the contents of the sachet of KNORR Chicken Noodle Soup and leave to stand for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and lightly brown the chicken strips
  4. Add the celery, spring onion and bean sprouts and stir-fry for a few minutes
  5. Add the remaining sauce ingredients to the soup mixture and stir well
  6. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables and simmer until slightly thickened
  7. Top with the toasted cashew nuts and serve immediately
