Naughty looks up to South African rappers for inspiration

"I believe that one day I too will be as big as the artists I look up to"

POLOKWANE – It is said that music has the ability to heal and the proof is in the pudding for 15-year-old Lehlogonolo ‘Naughty’ Molefe, a Gr 10 learner at Flora Park Comprehensive High School. Naughty says he chooses to channel his energy and free time towards music as that is where his passion lies.

“Through music and art, I am able to voice my opinions and feelings. I write my own music and I look up to international legends such Drake and Migos and locally I love AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C and the likes of Proverb and Pro Kid. I believe that one day I too will be as big as the artists I look up to,” he said.

Naughty says his sound is locally inspired and uniquely crafted. On how he got his name, the teenager says it was from his mother who would tell him he is a naughty child who uses too much of his time playing and making music. He adds that while his mother thinks he spends too much time with his music, he manages his time well and is able to balance his attention to his school work and his talent.

Naughty dreams of one day collaborating with Nasty CSA.
