Car enthusiasts and VW fans gathered in numbers to participate in a Kombi Karaoke supported by a popular tyre brand at the recent social and motor industry extravaganza, the Vdub Camp Fest show, held in Bela-Bela.
It was not only about who had the best wheels but also who could best belt out their favourite tunes. With a catalogue of 30 000 songs to choose from for the karaoke, all age groups were catered for with the young generation going for the relatively modern tunes and the older generation opting for the good old classics and reminiscing about yesteryear.
Lungisa Xhelithole, a tyre brand manager, reportedly said the karaoke was a perfect fit judging by how most people, young and old, jumped at the opportunity to sing along to their most-loved songs. “It is common knowledge that car enthusiasts and music are inseparable. The karaoke was a perfect fit judging by how most people, young and old, jumped at the opportunity to sing along to their most-loved songs.”
The karaoke was hosted from a 1972 VW Brasília Kombi, which found itself at home amongst the modified and pimped-up older cars at the show.
