Our Home board returned to office, receives donation

Last year’s board of Our Home was returned to office unopposed at the annual general meeting last Tuesday evening.
Chairman of the board, Richard Wilson thanked fellow board members Eric Wood, Fred de Wit, Ursula Moodie, Sue and John Kirkpatrick and Dudley Venner for their commitment and active involvement in the matters of Our Home.
Wilson commended the staff for their dedication and extended his gratitude to members of the community and the businesspeople of the city for their donations and support. “The running costs of the centre is very high and it cannot be sustained without external support,” Wilson said.
Wilson also stated that the city’s Rotary clubs and Round Tablers will be approached to provide assistance to have the buildings repaired and the exteriors painted.
Wilson reported that the position of factotum is vacant since December and that steps are taken to fill the position.
Arthur van der Schyff, board member of Limpopo Classic Cars Club presented Our Home with a cheque for R20 000, being raised during the classic cars expo that was hosted at Mall of the North last year.
