Mirror2Mirror encouraging ladies to be all that they can be

The aim of the foundation is to encourage women (between the ages of 15-50) to be each others mirrors in the sense that instead of spotting only the bad things in a person, instead see only the positive and focus on those.

LIMPOPO – Having observed women rejoice at the sight of another’s embarrassment or misery, Nsovo Manganyi founded and started a foundation called Mirror2Mirror/Woman2Woman organisation.

The aim of the foundation is to encourage women (between the ages of 15-50) to be each others mirrors in the sense that instead of spotting only the bad things in a person, instead see only the positive and focus on those.

Nsovo, a qualified physiologist is currently serving as a qualified and registered Occupational Hygiene Assistant with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene and is also a community developer who seeks to encourage and help build her community into a better one.

“Under this concept and to follow my passion of serving the community, helping those in need as well as providing knowledgeable information to those who need. I have recently launched a campaign which has been running since 2017 which seeks to provide women of between the ages of 15-50 with a platform to engage with one another as well as empower one another with valuable information and knowledge from their individual life experience to help each other make life better. I have realized that women have a tendency of pulling one another down, embarrassing each other and actually rejoice at the sight of another woman’s misery and that is how the campaign was birthed,” she explained.

She explained how women have the power to break the notion that women are always out to bring each other down. “By being mirrors for one another in the sense that when a woman sees another woman struggling and falling, offer to help soothe whatever pain the other woman may be going through. Encourage one another to keep their chin up when facing challenges in life and to inspire hope and faith that one day all will be well in life,” she added.

“We will be building each other as women, and building women who can stand up for themselves; empowering themselves and others. Together with other committed members, women who hold various professions and careers such as psychology, occupational therapy, social work and teaching, all share one goal and mission, which is to discuss the various challenges young women and the youth face daily such substance abuse, health and their consequences.

For their first project for 2019 called Student Motivational Movement they visited 5 high schools in Limpopo: H.S Phillips Secondary School, Muthuhadini Combined School, Waterval High school, Lemana High School and Elim Senior Secondary School where the founder spoke to the learners about respect, substance abuse and planning.

“We therefore organise events to address these issues and come up with solutions,” she concluded.
