POLOKWANE – The festival will start at 11:00 until 05:00 and MEC, Thandi Moraka said they want local artists to participate in the festival to entrench the common cultural roots.
She said the purpose of the festival is to promote the rich and diverse cultural heritage and to deepen social cohesion and national identity as a people.
“Beyond this, the festival should demonstrate and expose the artistic skills of local, regional and international musical artists, thereby expanding their market as artists.
This is in line with our vision to ensure that arts and culture contributes to economic growth and the livelihoods of the people of this country and Limpopo in particular,” she said.
Artists such as King Monada, Lady Zamar, Mafikizolo, Benny Mayengani, Vusi Nova, Dr Colbert Mukwevho, Dr Tumi, Winnie Mashaba, and Dr Malinga are expected to perform.
She urged citizens to buy tickets and support the festival.
“Let us take care of tourists from the length and bredth of the province, the country and abroad.
The artists and promoters must work with us to make this festival a great success,” she said.
