There was not much of a sign of an idle daughter-in-law in the house when The Lazy Makoti’s Mogau Seshoene met with excited fans and supportive homeys at Bargain Books at Mall of the North on Saturday for the signing of her new cook book.
Only of an enthusiastic entrepreneur synonymous with driving home recipes for traditional cuisine, something that any makoti who is under pressure to impress would most likely be able to manage.
In addressing the audience in a dedicated space among the shelves in the bookshop Seshoene, who hails from Mankweng, alluded to her mother having been her inspiration in the kitchen. She continued saying she maintained a philosophy that cooking should be easy and that she believed in simple ingredients.
Spotted in the audience one of her relatives, Thabiso Ntsoane expressed pride at the achievements of the young chef whom he reckoned was breaking ground for her peers. He continued describing his own mother, Seipati Ntsoane as a good cook who was the reason for him learning behind the pots while still at tertiary.
Guest Maboko Mokwena, who secured her copy of the book early on during the late afternoon occasion, explained that she was a huge fan and that she has followed the concept since inception. She was definitely going to try some of the recipes in the book, she said. “They look so easy.”
