POLOKWANE – “Being independent comes with a sense of responsibility and that, for women, includes being able to cook a decent meal. So as time went by, I noticed that most of my friends do not how to cook, in fact, most of them fear to even cook for their families because they fear being criticised, and that got me really worried as I had substantial experience and skills in the kitchen. I have always loved cooking,” she explained.

She is currently studying to become a qualified chef with a diploma from the Limpopo Chefs Academy to boost her undying love and passion for cooking.
She shared with BONUS readers a simple dessert and sweet treat recipe, sweet truffles, to enjoy after a delicious wholesome meal with loved ones.
For the sweet truffles you will need the following:
• Milk chocolate
• White chocolate (For garnish)
• Edible pearls
• Nuts
• Peppermint chocolate
• Chocolate spoons
• 200g tennis buscuits
• 125 ml desiccated coconut toasted
• 30 ml melted butter
• 150 ml sweetened condensed milk
• Dark and white chocolate melted
• Desiccated coconut
Method:
1. Crush biscuits until very fine. Place in a bowl and mix with toasted coconut.
2. Add melted butter and condensed milk, a little at a time. Until consistency is suitable enough to roll balls in your hands.
3. Place on grease proof paper.
To coat:
Tip the melted chocolate into a bowl and gently roll the truffles until evenly coated.
Then roll them in toasted coconut or pipe chocolate in a piping bag and decorate as desired.
Chill until set or set aside in a cool place to dry and then enjoy.
