Great music unplugged and from a car boot

Local artists were given an unusual platform to showcase their talents at a local venue on Saturday when Afro soul singer Ntsikwane Raphesu and Audi Centre Polokwane hosted city’s first Car Boot Unplugged Lifestyle Picnic.
Afro soul and jazz devotees were treated to live shows by artists performing from the boots of different Audi vehicles. It was an awesome Saturday afternoon of great music, food, wine and fashion.
Nstikwane, as she is popularly known, said this was initiated last year to show off Limpopo talent in a whole new setup rather than on stage. She said the best thing about the session was that the whole family could enjoy it and only local musicians are catered for.
“This is our first gathering but we are planning to make it annual because of the support we got from residents and artists. I initially started performing from the boot of a car last year and then Audi came on board to sponsor me with stylish vehicles. I am delighted to see that music lovers enjoy the new setup and I appreciate the support,” she said.
Piet Maluleke, Group Marketing Manager of Audi Centre Polokwane’s holding company Marble Gold Group, indicated that they came on board because the company supports local talent by promoting their respective brands in a stylish manner. He emphasised that Audi was one of the biggest brands committed to uplift communities and they were delighted to be associated with musicians such as Ntsikwane.
“We want to boost a whole lot of local artists and anyone with talent. We are all about nurturing and uplifting talent. People can approach us with proposals if they need sponsorship,” Maluleke invited.
Apart from Ntsikwane the list of performers also included Mogau ‘Black Queen’ Sebeka, Jayson Tsebe and local comedian Noko Moswete.
