A novel adventure awaited members of K9 Kennel Buddies when they slept over with their dogs at Von Zwei Dog Lodge on Friday and Saturday evening to promote the Santa Cause for Paws initiative.
Before retiring to the kennels, the canine friends were taken for a night walk, wearing fluorescent battery operated collars in orange, purple, green and yellow.
Coordinator of the event, Chantel van Deventer said that the purpose was to promote K9 Kennel Buddies’ drive to help shelter animals to have a happy Christmas. “Santa Cause for Paws is a nationwide initiative and animal lovers can pledge two things out of Yum dog treats, something warm, something fun or something useful through the website at www.santapaws. The campaign will end on 30 November, where after the collected items will be delivered to branches of the SPCA,” Van Deventer said.
