POLOKWANE –

• Do you have a wish of releasing your own music? And if so, who would you like to work with in the future? David Mothokoa, Turfloop.

“I do release my own music as we speak, it’s out on the internet, and I’m working on my EP this year titled Dinoko E. P featuring Afromendez, Vietnam G, Dj Tono and Vida-Soul. I would like to work with local artists Da Capo, Problem Child (Ten83), K’zela and Stylish, Toshi and Dindy.”

• Who represents Limpopo in the house music industry and what kind of music do you listen to? Martha, Seshego Zone 2.

“Da Capo and Problem Child represent Limpopo the best way, and I do listen to house music.”

• Who or what inspired you to be a DJ? “Ge osa tlale wa dutla” can you please describe the link between your stage name and this phrase? Mapula Makgashi, Polokwane.

“My uncle influenced me to love music, he was DJing for the community during their ceremonies. I learned a lot from him because I was attending with him some of his gigs until he gave me his equipment in 2009. My stage name is Kg Wa Kazi and my label is Ge osa tlale wa dutla, it supports my stage name because there are lot of people in the industry that will pull you down. So to me it means when you can’t succeed there’s something disturbing you. So I love to focus on one goal until I achieve it.”

• How old are you, and are you a good dancer? Vicky Mellow, Seshego Zone 2.

“I’m 20 years of age. I learned how to dance before I started to be a DJ because I want to make people dance while I can dance too.”

• Who taught you how to DJ, and what’s your favourite song of all time, that song that is always on your playlist? Kgothatso Maja, Bloodriver.

“My uncle, David Monyela taught me how to DJ with his personal computer using Automix Software, then DJ Blacksoul and DJ mayD taught me CDjs.”

• Do you get groupie love? Mary Mokoena, Nobody.

“A lot of times but I try and manage it without offending anyone. And I give my fans attention too.”
