Nicodemus Mamabolo (29) aid he was born to heal people's broken hearts and souls

POLOKWANE – Pedi comedian, Nicodemus Mamabolo’s (29) jokes are not just funny, they are also therapy for broken hearts and stress.

Better known as Nicomedian, from Mankweng, Mamabolo said he was born to heal people’s broken hearts and souls. Mamabolo told CV that comedy to him is therapy and he therefore don’t see himself as a comedian but as a doctor. “This is because through my jokes I heal people’s hearts, bring broken families together and remove stress from depressed people,” said Mamabolo.

He said his jokes are based on life experiences, things that have happened to him and to people around him. “It needs wisdom to be a comedian because performing in front of people is like stealing a victory in the jaws of defeat.”

He said: “I work hard towards my comedy as to ensure that I bring diversity to people’s lives. Words heard, makes us whole and also challenge our lives, so that we can put more effort into what we do.”

He describes himself as an emotional doctor in the comedy world.

“My jokes goes hand in hand with motivation, because I cannot deliver something empty to my people. People should stop undermining comedians, because comedy is not all about jokes, it’s a job,” Mamabolo said.

He said he noticed his talent while he was stile in primary school but joined the comedy industry in 2010.

He said he used to tell jokes to his classmates and everyone loved his jokes. Mamabolo has thus far been on several comedy show line-ups at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, Phalaborwa, The View Car Wash and News Café in Pretoria.

He has shared the stage with well-known comedians such as Salesman, Mashabela Galane, Shampoonizer, Raly Malatjie and Smokey Nyembe.
