Designer Mojalefa gives tips on how to run a successful fashion show

Fashion Designer Mojalefa Rakgoale will be hosting his 2nd Annual Plus Size Fashion Weekend later this month and explains to Review what goes into hosting a successful runway/fashion show

POLOKWANE – Since hosting his first plus size fashion weekend, Fashion Designer Mojalefa Rakgoale, has gained the ongoing support from local fans and fashion designers.

He says his career success is due to planning, hard work and long hours.

Mojalefa will be hosting his 2nd Annual Plus Size Fashion Weekend later this month and explains to Review what goes into hosting a  successful runway/fashion show.

Firstly you should find and book spacious venue that has enough space for a stage and runway. This should be done prior to the show to allow for model rehearsals,” Mojalefa advised.

“Time management and planning is of the utmost importance when hosting a successful show so work out a detailed program for your fashion show,” he adds.

“Punctuality at all times is critical, however, you should also leave room for disappointment as people are not perfect… tackle every situation as it rises in the most professional manner you can.”

He further explains that after finalising the venue and stage set-up, run several rehearsals as the organiser/fashion designer, check the venue on the day of the show and most importantly, run the fashion show in style.

Mojalefa’s 2nd annual fashion weekend show will take place on Sunday 21 October at Jembe Tavern, Meropa Casino Entertainment World.

Ghee Warra Ben, Les M, Dj Suchi, Mopedi will entertain the guests as they browse through the designs by such local designers such as Victoria Designs, Setati Designs, Vhuwani Designs, Anna Designs, Lebo Designs.

“The event is about giving plus sizes woman a platform to compete in the fashion/modelling industry as previous years they were being judged and overlooked. As the founder and owner of Promote It Agency, we’re planning on opening another branch in Tzaneen and Phalaborwa, with the aim of training plus size women to become professional models, and with this event we hope that it is a good platform for all women that have a passion for modelling,” he said.
