Host of the City Nights, Energy FM’s Agrrey

This week, we get to know Energy FM’s Agrrey Lichopwa, host of City Nights on weekdays from 20:00 until midnight.

POLOKWANE – • What is you biggest fear? Michelle Motloutsi, Seshego Zone 2.

“Hi Michelle, my biggest fear has to be losing my grandmother who is always my pillar of strength.”

• When did you start working as a DJ? Do you like to encourage other people who would like to be future DJ’s because you really lead by example. Nasha Khadijah Patel and Bilal, Nirvana.

“Hey Nasha, thank you so much for the compliment. I started my radio journey in 2011 at University of Johannesburg FM (UJFM) and yes, I do encourage those who have the radio bug to definitely go for it. Passion is a driver for radio, coupled with hard work and commitment, that’s my secret formula.”

• Are you single or taken? Itumeleng, Turf Zone 2.

“Wow what a question Itumeleng, yes Aggrey is single, wink-wink.”

• Where do you see yourself in the next five years? Lucky Mamabolo, Bloodriver.

“Hi Lucky, thanks for the question. In the next five years, I would like to see myself having made a valuable contribution towards the Limpopo media and entertainment space. I see so much potential in our people and we getting to where we need to be, however in the next five years I would like to be one of the people mentioned as a trailblazer of the industry and a renowned media personality.”

• What is your favourite food? Nancy, Seshego Zone 2.

“Hey Nancy, I love Indian food so much. My favourite has be the butter chicken curry (hot) served with garlic naan bread, either than that, give me some sea food, we sorted.”

• Have you always loved radio or has other interests as well? Shadi Ramahlwe, Luthuli Park.

“Hey Shadi, I have always loved radio, since I was 16. I used to record myself pretending to be a radio presenter using my grandmother’s laptop. Other interests would be to further grow my presenting skills and venturing into TV someday.”

• Where do you draw your inspiration from? Daniel, University of Limpopo.

“I draw my inspiration from everyday life, everyday experiences and every person that I have an encountered with, I make sure I grab something out of that experience to better my craft.”

• How old are you? Tebatso, Bendor.

“Hey Tebatso, I’m 25 years old, turning 26 next month (October).”

• What is your favourite colour and how what do you do for fun in your spare time? Anonymous, Polokwane.

“My favourite colour is green. And what I do on my spare time is MC events, for fun I cook; look I am a great cook, chef in the making, I enjoy watching series, cartoons and movies; romantic comedy to be exact, as well as traveling a whole lot.”
