The local branch of a holistic activities programme hosted a spring picnic and sport day at Pietersburg English Medium Primary School’s (Pemps) sport grounds recently with the aim of encouraging parents to exercise and spend more time with their children.
Attendees enjoyed snacks and food and also participated in several activities which include circuits, parachute games, balls and cardio workouts. Company owner Cherelle Chrystal said the gathering was for parents and children to have fun while engaging in sport activities at the same time. She further emphasised that the activities they had on the day are exactly what they offer in the classroom.
Chrystal indicated that parents and children spend most of their time behind a computer or using smart phones and engage less in competitive activities which is not good for their health. She stressed that this was their first gathering and they are planning to host it annually because of the support they got. She encouraged parents to make time to be with their children and exercise often.
