Female members of the Provincial Police criminal record and crime scene management divisions staged their own Women’s Day event in Polokwane last Friday with the aim of appreciating the efforts of women in the law enforcement sector
The event was attended by 45 women from all criminal record and crime scene management divisions in the province.
Event organiser, Tebogo Moholola stressed that the occasion gave them an opportunity to thank the women in the division for their passion and hard work. “Women are confronted with many challenges in society and workplaces. Some are still facing discrimination and inequality that continues to plague our society and not everyone can overcome those challenges. We decided to bring them together to inspire, motivate and encourage them to be proud of who they are and to urge them to continue working extra hard because they are the real architects of society,” Moholola said.
Senior official at Provincial Police, Charlotte Mabusela urged her colleagues to be brave and always be in control of every situation. “The trials you come across must not deter you. We must not be bitter, instead we must find a way of approaching things in life. We are living in challenging and tough times and as women we must be comfortable and confident in all types of situations.”
Local motivational speaker, Bridgett Matlou appealed to women to join forces and help each other. “We need each other as women, must not bring each other down. We must fight for each other. We must not be free when another woman is not liberated,” Matlou said.
