[GRAPHIC PHOTOS] Three lions killed on Letsitele farm

Two of the lions were found with their heads and their paws cut off.

LIMPOPO  – Police in Letsitele, outside Tzaneen, have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects involved in the killing of three lions at a farm on Sunday, 26 August 2018.

According to police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the farm manager was patrolling the area when she noticed that the fence was cut. She went to the lion’s enclosure and discovered two carcasses with their heads and paws cut off. The third carcass was found in the same spot, with no missing parts.

“The method used during the killing of these animals is subject to the ongoing police investigations. Anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in this matter may contact Colonel Alpheus Mokale at 082 565 6524; the crime stop number 08600 10111; the crime line sms 32211 or nearest police station,” Ngoepe said.

The South African Police Service in Limpopo have strongly condemned the killings, saying those who are still perpetrating this crime category will be dealt with harshly and without compromise.
