Martha to represent Limpopo at the Mrs Africa Classic

Having won a few beauty pageant titles, Mrs Africa Classic 2018/19 finalist, Martha Chuene-Masopoga from Westenburg, is set to keep uplifting others with her titles.

POLOKWANE – “My love and passion for giving back to the community grew with me from a young age. When I was crowned Mrs Polokwane second runner-up and Mrs Polokwane Congeniality 2017, I used my titles to touch lives and help more people as I had a bigger voice to reach a bigger audience with the titles. I entered the Mrs Africa Classic pageant because I wanted to enlarge my territory as a woman and continue my legacy of uplifting and empowering young women as I give hope to those older than me,” she explained.

The beauty queen adopted a high school in her community in 2016.

“The beginning of each year we select the top 20 best performing learners in one grade, due to limited finances, in the school and reward them with enough stationery to last them for the year. This passion was born way back when I realised the need for school uniforms among the learners who worked hard on their education which is why I started this project.”

Martha added she aims to promote and improve the life of a boy child, just as the life of a girl child is promoted and worked on. She does this by motivating both groups and ensuring they take education seriously as this is one of the measures put in place to alleviate poverty in society.

“I also want to engage with women from different walks of life and share ideas about how best to play an important role in one’s community and Africa at large. AfricaPageants SA was the only platform for me to put all these ideas to practice and so far I am doing good. I’m grateful because during our first workshop and team building session, I learned a lot and wish to share what I learned with other women, especially young women.”

She has assisted an orphanage in Polokwane as well as people living with disabilities by organising a groceries donation with the assistance of Lexus, Miami Lodge and Hoërskool Westenburg Secondary.

The finals will be held on 1 December in Hartbeespoort at the ATKV Buffelspoort holiday resort and the beauty queen pleads with Limpopo to vote for her to win the title.

“As a finalist I would appreciate help from companies as sponsors to allow me to continue my journey successfully. To vote for me, SMS MRSC09 to 47018. Beauty pageants are not all about glitz and glam, nowadays our main focus is giving back to the community,” she concluded.
