Acting, drama Dineo’s bread and butter
Born an actress at heart, Dineo Tyutya from Blood River, Manganye just outside of Seshego aims to entertain Limpopo with her many talents.
POLOKWANE – “Growing up I have always had a passion for drama and acting. I remember how I used to be a lead actor in most of the school plays that I participated in. Young as I was, however, I had no idea how one could turn a passion, especially for the entertainment industry, into a profession. When I went to tertiary to further my studies, I spent a lot of time on my own which afforded me an opportunity to do some introspection and find my passions in life which revolve around, art, drama and entertainment,” she said.
When she was in primary school, she used to stand out from her peers during oral presentations and dramatic arts. She even learned how to write poems and drama scripts. One of her works, Life can be Malicious, won an award for best drama script during the Tribal Hall dramatic arts competition in Lebowakgomo. It is based on her life experiences which also inspired her popular poems, The First and Thorn Love which were inspired by her relationships.
The 19-year-old is currently a final year public administration student at iCollege in Polokwane through which she said she gains more experience regarding working with people.
“We are equipped with skills and knowledge on how to work and associate with other people on a professional level, which for me becomes advantageous as the career path I want to follow requires me to be very good in terms of socialising,” she added.
She is an affiliated member of the Live Art Vibe organisation based in Polokwane through which she continues to nurture her talent and passion for arts and drama. She performs every Tuesday at the Live Art Vibe at the Library Gardens in Polokwane from 10:00 until 15:00.
