Miss Face of Limpopo aims to change lives

Young beauty queen, Kamogelo Tisane, says she aims to help change lives using her titles.

POLOKWANE – Having started modelling at a tender age of 10, Kamogelo has already began with her community upliftment work where she is raising money to help orphaned children in her community.

“I am very fortunate to have the support every child must get from home. This support pushes me to work even harder at enhancing my modelling skills so that I can become the best in this game. I have come to realise that when one has a certain level of status attached to their name, they are able to make things happen and change communities for the better. I see this from other beauty queens who I look up to such as Lesego Matheba, Zodwa Mdingi, Basetsana Khumalo to name a few,” she explained.

Kamogelo added she wants to see herself among the top women in the beauty industry who helped to change lives.

The 12-year-old is currently in Gr 6 at Northview Christian Academy and holds various titles such as Miss Face of Limpopo 2018, Miss Face of Limpopo Ambassador, Top Model overall winner and winner of the best dressed category in the Miss Face of Limpopo pageant.

In terms of business, she explained she looks up to her mentor and coach, Katryn Barwise-Cilliers, who inspires her to work hard so that she too can own a modelling agency.

Her mother, also a former beauty queen, constantly roots for her daughter during competitions said she is very proud of her daughter, adding ever since she started modelling, her daughter’s level of confidence has grown and keeps growing.

“Every young girl needs to be motivated and encouraged to follow their dreams. Women have to fight twice as hard to ensure they succeed,” said Kamogelo’s mother, Rose.
