POLOKWANE – Miz K hosts the Beat Zone show on Saturday and Sundays.
• Who and what inspired you to be a DJ?
“People around me, my family and all the DJ’s I met in my career such as Black Coffee, DJ Fresh, Glen Lewis, Buddha Satva and Louie Vega among others. What also inspires me is older and young women who hustle and never give up in life, those in the public eye and those I grew up around.”
• Who is your celebrity crush? Mapula Makgashi, University of Limpopo.
“Prince Kaybee (Mr Club Controller).”
• How old were you when you started DJing and what was the inspiration behind your decision to join the music industry? Kingsley Mmatlou, Ga-Matlala Maineleng.
“I was 22 years old when it all started and it was inspired by my love for different genres of music.”
• Majority of ladies choose modelling, acting and presenting. You chose to be a DJ, why? Sakkie Makola, Seshego Zone 2.
“I chose music first and DJing came afterwards. I love music. For me it’s a sound that all nations understands and I connect with. That’s the reason why I’m a young woman who got to be given an opportunity, for me I couldn’t look back or do any less of what I was taught.”
• Can we expect an album from you anytime soon? Thabo, Westenburg.
“You can expect a single yes, it’s in the process of being recorded, and the album will be coming in the near future.”
