The organisers of the Miss Limpopo 2018 Pageant undertook a three day tour around the province last week to create awareness for the upcoming pageant that will conclude with the crowning event diarised for 8 December at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.
The organisers, accompanied by Miss Limpopo 2018, Gail Mokwatlo and Miss Teen 2018, Sebueng Ramatsokotla, visited communities in Venda district, Giyani and Burgersfort where they encouraged young models to enter.
Speaking at a breakfast session hosted by Meropa Casino and Entertaiment World last Friday, one of the organisers, Zanique Saaiman said their meet and greet sessions with communities were met with enthusiasm and an eagerness to interact and pose for photos with the two beauty queens. “People were receptive and welcomed us with open arms. They were eager to learn more about the pageant,” Saaiman said.
She explained that one of the reasons they had embarked on the tour was to grow the pageant and give everyone a chance to participate. “We want the pageant to be inclusive. We want to give young models in remote, rural areas the opportunity to participate therefore we went to them.”
She added that the pageant being based in Polokwane makes it difficult for possible entrants to reach the organisers’ offices and thus, by going to the communities, they increased the chances of more entrants and thereby also growing the pageant.
