POLOKWANE – Energy FM partnered with Carol Blue Events to collect and donate the food parcels on Thursday, 7 June. The team was welcomed with song and dance from the children at the centre, entertaining them while they made their entrance with the food parcels.
Energy FM Station Manager, Bothwell BK Matewe, said this will go a long way in alleviating the strain of the centre that largely relies on funding from the Department of Social Development.
“Children must not be left wondering when their next meal will be served, and it is a moral obligation we have as the Energy FM team to assist them in every possible way,” BK said.
Rea Kgona Mankweng Board Chairperson, Raditletse Mamabolo, could not hide his excitement when receiving the food parcels. “We are grateful for the gesture shown by Energy FM and are hopeful it will go a long way to ensure the children do not attend classes on empty stomachs,” Raditletse said.
Rea Kgona Drop-In Centre Mankweng is one of Energy FM’s beneficiaries.
