Leeuwkuil community members flocked to Bet Jeshua Church on Saturday for the second annual Leeuwkuil Community
Policing Forum (CPF) family fun day that was aimed at raising funds for the forum and different charity organisations within the community. Petrus Steenkamp, acting chairperson of the forum, said the gathering was to encourage the community to work as a unit to be able to resolve issues while the second objective was to raise funds. The programme offered a wide variety of activities and competitions such as show jumping, target shooting and a potjiekos competition. Stalls manned by members of the local community sold drinks and mouth-watering food while Juan Vermaak and his band provided live entertainment.
Some residents donated food items such as vegetables that will be given to charity organisations. Steenkamp said the event was a success with more than 200 community members attending. He thanked everyone for their continued support of the forum and its activities and initiatives.
