Carol Blue Events held a family fun day at the Military Base sports grounds on Saturday with the aim of giving back to less privileged persons and afford children from local orphanages an opportunity to enjoy themselves.
There were giant slides, a foam pit and jumping castles for children to play with while elders enjoyed good music. Local companies had stalls, selling a wide range of snacks, food and drinks.
According to managing director of Carol Blue Events, Caroline Mokgolobotho the day was for the whole family to have fun and bond. She said there were activities for little ones, music and a cash bar for adults. She said they had invited Reakgona Drop-in-Centre in Mankweng to also join the day but they couldn’t make it. Mokgolobotho indicated that the whole idea was to give children from orphanages a chance just have fun without reservation.
“We were looking forward to spend the day with children from Reakgona but they failed to attend due to unforeseen circumstances. We will donate food parcels to the centre and next year we are going to choose another beneficiary. This is an annual gathering and we are planning to host it in other parts of the province as well,” she explained.
The elders were entertained by local artists such as Ntsikwane, Malondolo and a number of budding musicians while children were playing on giant slides and some got their faces painted. Mokgolobotho said they had a lot of fun and thanked everyone who made the day a success.
