Thabang takes inspiration from his mom in pursuing his music career

Thabang 'Mr Lacoste the dream chaser' Ramogale (21) will soon release an album

POLOKWANE – While taking a gap year, community activist Thabang decided to keep himself busy by working on his music career, inspired by his mother who also stated her claim in the industry.

“She used to dance for the late Pete Tenet who was an artist, and my mum made me love music and have passion for it because I loved the music that she used to dance to,” he explained.

Born in Kgapane, he started his academic career at Mapula Primary School in 2003 and proceeded to Maloti High School in 2010 where he completed matric in 2016.

“I started singing professionally in 2012 and that’s when I started listening to different types of music to know exactly what type of genre field I’m getting myself into. I find the music industry challenging sometimes, especially when it comes to a recording studios and producers. My first album failed due to arguments we had with my producer. I just told myself that I must keep on going, because all careers has its own challenges and when we make mistakes, we grow from them. I’m chasing my dreams, just like my name says.

“As an artist, never give up on working hard to make your dreams to come true,” he advised. He further added that for artists to succeed, they need to constantly stay in pursuit of their dreams and stay loyal to these, respect their managers as well as their fellow artists. Don’t let negative feedback distract or put you down, keep on doing what you love and have a passion for,” he said.
