Get the purrrfect cat eyes with these tips
Still in cat eye era, make-up artist and Labonitu beauty spa owner Molatelo Mangena, gives us a few tips on how to achieve this and the different designs available.
POLOKWANE – “Just like the red lipstick, a classy and sassy look of a black cat eye is normally the fashionable look for most occasions. However, some women don’t know what to do with their faces when going out with friends,” she explained.
- Block cat eye: Using an eyeliner, start from the bottom of one’s eyelid and proceed in drawing a block at corner of the eye.
- Sophia Loren cat eye: This is one type in which the thick line visible on the upper lid is the main focus with a thinner line connecting on the bottom. You can also add a graphic spin on this by creating a ‘V’ shape in the outer corner of the eyes, drawing inward over the lid.

- Sharp winged cat eye: Draw a dark and thick line using the eyeliner, nearly filling the whole eyelid.
Apart from the three designs mentioned, there are many more that the cat era has to offer. “There’s just a variety of cat eyes make-up designs and sometimes you can create your own design. These look very good, especially at night events,” she shared.
Sharing her views on one’s variety in make-up, she explains that she sometimes feels as though wearing the same kind on a daily basis can become quite a tedious task. “It’s sometimes nice to change your style of make-up once in a while, try something different. Put a different spin on it,” she concluded.
