Your autumn make-up guide
As autumn peeks its head out, here are a few tips for our make-up lovers, courtesy of make-up artist Martha Lebese.
POLOKWANE – “Autumn is around the corner my ladies, and if you’re very familiar with make-up techniques, you will know that the changing of the season comes along with make-up tips for the fall,” she explained.
She further explained that one should refrain from using the same colour or shade of make-up that one would make use of or used in summer. “Through my experience of being in the beauty and make-up industry and my favourite and best make-up tips for autumn. This will help you stand out beautifully and keep you updated with the latest make-up and face beat trends,” she said.
According to Martha, along with one’s basic foundation, base, eye shadow, mascara, eye liner and lipstick one must have colour to look out for in this season is purple. “Some smoky eyes are mostly treasured and adored in most cases. Apart from that, I honestly think that purple looks beautiful in a smoky eye version, there’s just something sexy about purple eye shadow in the autumn season.
I would advise you ladies to forget about the black eye shadow this time around and to go with the colour purple, one thing I know for sure is that you won’t regret it,” she explained.
Martha also adds that women should keep in mind that purple is a great way to bring out one’s eye colour, adding that cat eyes (achieving this look by the use of an eyeliner) is always a way to go for this season. “The eyelashes can also be dramatic. Apply the extra lash mascara that will give your eyelashes some volume,” she said.
She further explained that whether one is looking for thick eyelashes or looking to add some on to accentuate one’s features or for a more dramatic look, one can never go wrong in doing this. “Lastly, the lips should be stained with some colourful lipstick, apply darker shiny colours, this way your lips will shine and really stand out. Cherry red lips are my favourite in autumn,” she concluded.
