POLOKWANE – Dinyake came across the pageant in 2016, but at that point discovered that it was too late to submit her entry. Given her newfound knowledge on the pageant, she eagerly waited for the pageant’s return and was among the 16 finalists selected to continue with the pageant. After being selected as one of the finalists, she went on to attend a number of workshops that also clashed with her school routine. “I had to find a balance to attend the workshops as well as to manage my school work. There were times where I had to study and do my school work in the car on my way to the workshop. I also had to wake up early to find the time for all the things I had to do in a day. We had various tasks to do in order to make the cut, which also required dedication,” she explained.

It was during her tenure as a finalist that she discovered that she was at an advantage when one of the requirements was being involved in a charity and she had not only been involved with the Samaritan Centre but, had also been appointed as their ambassador. “I already had plans for the year because as the ambassador, my duty was to come up with fundraising strategies and representing the kids at the center. I was the mediator, which is similar to what I do at school as the RCL President. I am the mediator between school management and the learners,” she added.
With regards to her reign as the centre’s ambassador, she is now trying to raise R 100 000 for the Samaritan Centre in order for them to extend their premises to accommodate more children. She has already received a donation to the sum of R 13 500 from Sasbo Nedbank. “I am appealing to anyone who can be of any assistance to come forward. Showing her gratitude to those that supported her, she also thanked her mother for instilling the value of curiosity in her and teaching her the importance of keeping abreast with the current affairs.
As the Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa, she will now be competing in London. “I am not sure how many countries I will be competing with in London but it is a very prestigious pageant and well recognised around the world. I feel like you can never be prepared enough, it’s just a matter of taking a leap of faith and believing in yourself. I want to enjoy the trip but also make sure I represent my country well in the process,” she concluded.
