Colourful fun to save lives at annual #CANSAshavathon
The 2018 Cansa Shavathon will take place during the last week of February, marking the 15th installment of the colourful fest.
POLOKWANE – This year’s theme, get loud in color and provide hope, urges individuals to have fun and take part in the cause. As part of the 2018 campaign, participants can either shave, spray or simply donate a ‘bail-out fee’ online. Those that decided to shave and spray can also purchase a limited edition of Shavathon badge for R5 to show their support for the cause.
A customised badge will be made available, at no extra cost, to participants who will donated hair bundles 25 cm and longer. To advance the cause, participants are also urged to make use of the #CANSAshavathon hashtag on all social media platforms during the colourful fest.
Solidarity to all cancer patients and survivors can also be shown by making a R50 donation, stipulated for adults, and a R25 donation for children under the age of 12.
All money collected during the course of the event will go towards advancing a number of care and support programmes. DHL will host their Shavathon on Friday, 23 February at their offices on the corner of Marshall and Dorp Street from 09:00 to 16:00.
The Shavathon teams will be at Mall of the North on Saturday, 24 February. They will also be visiting a number of workplaces from Monday, 26 February until Friday, 2 March.
