Money matters with Kwena Matjekana

This week we get to know Energy FM and Choice FM's Kwena Matjekana, a resident Economic Analyst.

• Hi Team, what inspired you to become an Economist? Peter Makwela, Turf.

“Economics enables one to have a global view and understanding of what is behind the multiple everyday decisions by individuals, businesses and government; and how the economy works.”

• Hi there, I want to know if you are satisfied with the economic frame of the country? And if you were the finance minister, what you would do to change it. Isaac Mashala, Madiba Park.

“Presently the economic situation of South Africa is of concern because unemployment is a big worry especially to the youth. If I was the Minister of Finance I would focus resources to human capital investment and tighten the environment to combat wastage and corruption.”

• I want to be a financial advisor, which subjects should I focus more on? Thank you sir. Mmaphuti Letsoalo, Seshego Zone 5.

“Economics, statistics, accounting and business management.”

• Hi, which school did you attend? And what were you like as a kid? Thanks Mapula, Mmotong Wa Perekisi.

“I did my primary school education at Mabitsela School, my secondary education at Setotolwane High School, tertiary education at UNISA, University of Limpopo, and University of Johannesburg.”

• Do you enjoy soccer and if so, what team do you support? Thabiso Raphela, Nobody.

“I am really not fanatically involved in soccer, but I do occasionally watch it for leisure.”
