He is also a production manager at Milestone Multimedia and has produced several music videos and live events, working with artists such as Taki Psalmist Ndou, Rabelani Rabs and Vhafuwi Madula, currently working on Philip The Timebomb Ndou’s documentary.

Vusani says his biggest achievement in his career thus far was working with Connie and Shaun Ferguson on their Mzanzi Magic TV series, The Queen.

“Modelling has always been my passion and while I was in my Gr 11 year in 2009, my brother encouraged me to enter a pageant at my school. I was hesitant at first but he was persistent and I ended up being crowned king.

“I didn’t do any modelling during my matric year as my mother was adamant that I should first complete school, she urged me to place all my focus on my studies. I took up modelling again in 2014 and in 2015 I managed to do a photo shoot with one of South Africa’s biggest sporting goods stores and this kick-started my career as a model. I got to work with broadcasting channels, did a few gigs with the South African Modelling Youth Forum under the leadership of Percy Mohale, partnering with the Department of Arts and Culture. I was involved in fashion shows in Gauteng and Limpopo and I have done broadcasting work with SABC, doing development enterprise at 7de Laan,” he said.

“God is an artist and I believe the wisdom of portraying art is given to human kind. I love using this wisdom to show the world the beauty God created. The fact that my job requires art and creativity is what I love most.”

He dreams of doing modelling shows like the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and believes God will help him accomplish his goals.

“I didn’t really have the support of my family, except my brother, when I first started out in the modelling world. Nowadays my family wholly supports me. I look up most to my brother. Whenever my mother asks me what’s happening in the modelling and TV world I feel even more motivated to continue on my journey to chase my dreams.

“People interested in modelling will encounter many challenges and temptations such as women throwing themselves at you but you have to trust in God to assist you with self-discipline.”
