Radio Turf star to set national stage alight at awards

Being rejected several times during interviews did not stop Isaac Ceeloo Mashila from pursuing his dream of becoming a radio presenter.

POLOKWANE – He has been a presenter at the University of Limpopo’s Radio Turf since 2011 and has won several awards for his passion and skill as a presenter.

Born and bred in Kgokong Ga-Mamabolo, Isaac completed his primary and highschool careers at Kgokong Primary School in Ga-Mamabolo and Ramashobohle High School in Ga-Kama.

His schooling did not end here, however, and he is currently furthering his studies towards an honours in integrated industrial organisational communication through Unisa.

About his career as a radio presenter, he sees himself as a ‘classroom’ to inspire the world.

“When the microphone is on I am inspired to work some magic, particularly when my competitors are giving listeners dated or old content. My drive to deliver happening and fresh content to my listeners is what keeps me inspired and motivated to do my best.”

During his career on radio, Isaac has won the best presenter of the year award during the annual Radio Turf awards in 2015. In 2016 he won the best HOD award and was nominated for the F.A.M.E Awards in the Best Personality category.

To add another feather to his cap, Isaac is now nominated in three categories – best radio personality, best breakfast show and best documentary show – for the National Community Radio Awards 2017/18.

“It felt like passing Gr 12 with distinctions in all my subjects when I was nominated for the awards. I am excited and humbled by the nomination as there are so many good radio presenters nationally, but it is great to know I stand out above the rest. These nominations are a sign of a promising future for me,” Isaac said with a broad smile.

To vote for Isaac in the best radio personality category, SMS BPY3 to 45918.

For the best breakfast show category, SMS BBD2 to 45918 and for the best documentary show category, SMS BDS2 to 45918.
