“We have realised that most of the youth in this country are consuming drugs, drinking too much alcohol, robbing people and hijacking vehicles. So this drama will show them the consequences of their actions. We feel that the South African Police Service is trying so hard to decrease the high rate of crime, but it keeps increasing because some people in this country still lack information,” Jack explained.

Puleng further explained that another barrier to the decrease in the crime rate could be due to the number of dramas that are meant to communicate to the youth but that are being played older people.

“Why can’t we have dramas that are played by the youth, and those who are from the rural areas? Most people who commit crimes are based in the rural areas, so we believe that they will be motivated by our drama. What the drama depicts, is what’s happening in the rural areas and we have seen it,” he explained.

Their drama was also inspired by local dramas which have also been created in Turfloop.

“We would love this drama to be played on any SABC TV channel because we believe it will inspire a lot of people, especially the youth that will relate to the story line,” Puleng added.
