The Association for People with Disabilities (APD) management hosted a Christmas party for residents of Centenary House at the Trix Nortman workshop last Wednesday.
During the celebrations the residents showered each other with gifts and presents and also entertained their family members and friends with fun games and musical performances.
Margaret Malatji, APD’s Promotion and Awareness Officer said the party was aimed at celebrating the successes they had throughout the year at the organisation. “It was a great year for all of us, all went well and we did not have death cases this year as compared to last year when we lost five residents and it was difficult for most of us. We are happy that all our residents are doing well and remain in good health,” Malatji said.
“We wish them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and we are saying to them they must stay blessed and may God be with them and keep them safe during Festive Season. We also want to thank all the employees for their hard work and dedication they shown throughout the year. We also want to thank our volunteers for all their efforts in ensuring that residents feel at ease and at home,” Malatji said.
