Aggrey Lichopwa gives Energy FM a weekend ‘rush’

The Energy Rush airs Saturday and Sunday mornings.

POLOKWANE – This week BONUS gives its readers and the listeners of Energy FM the opportunity to get to know a little bit more about the host of the Energy Rush, Aggrey Lichopwa.

• When is your birthday? Nasha Karish’ma Patel from Nirvana Polokwane.

“My birthday is coincidentally on 27 October, the same day as both Energy and Choice FMs birthday and the legendary Oliver Tambo.”

• Do you rehearse before the show, do you prepare yourself before and if yes, for how long? Mpho Sebabi from Seshego Zone 6.

“Well yes I do rehearse before going on air. I usually take an hour before my show to prepare and get ‘in the zone’. Extra credit goes to my amazing music compiler, Jacky Fakaza, for the music you enjoy on the show.”

• What irritates you about your colleagues and what are your expectations from Energy FM? Mmaphuti Dudley Raphahla from Blood River (Moletjie).

“I work with the most amazing colleagues ever. Honestly it would be that I don’t get to see them every day.

What I expect from Energy FM is growth and development and to always be on top of the game, thankfully that’s what I am getting.”

• Is there someone special in your Life? Lethabo from Mmotong.

“A special somebody is still pending.”

• What do you usually spend most of your time doing when you aren’t on air? Lesiba Brian Molekwa from Mankweng.

“I am a marketing communication strategist by qualification so I do a lot of research, corporate presentations and MCing.

But other than that, I listen to music, I love travelling, watching cartoons and now I have started on this healthy lifestyle trip, so I exercise as well. Wish me luck.”

• The country expects a new president in 2019, who do you think will be the president and how would you love that person to shape the economy? Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“Hi Justice, I would lie if I were to pick out a name as to who I think would be the new president but ultimately I would love that individual to prioritise youth development and socio-economic issues like crime and unemployment as I believe they are interrelated.

I am hopeful our next president would invest more on graduates and access to education for all.”

• If you are nominated to act as Energy FM station manager what will be your feeling and what will you change or sustain? Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“Justice, that would be big shoes to fill. I admire and respect the contribution our Station Manager, Bothwell Matewe, puts into the station. With that said I wouldn’t change anything, I would sustain the standard set and maintain the level of accountability that has been set forth. Or maybe have one of those Mother of all Parties every second month, not such a bad idea huh?”

• When you are not at work over the weekend and you receive a call to from a taxi industry to operate a taxi, will you accept the offer, if yes or no, why? Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“It would be so awesome, one day if Ally Hammer is on sick leave he must give me a call, I would jump at the opportunity.”
