Meet afro soul singer, Usiane

Afro-soul singer, Usiane Magwabeni, recently released her new Extended Play (EP) entitled Asa Tutsheli.

LIMPOPO- Being an artist that aims to inspire others, Usiane said her new single aims at inspiring and encouraging those going through difficult times to pull themselves closer to God.

“This song is about believing that whenever you’re experiencing difficulties in life, the only one who will never walk away from you is the creator of the universe, God.

“I experienced difficult situations in my life and the people I trusted for empathy walked away,” she said.

The 27-year-old was born and bred at Lukau village in Mutale and plans to release an album soon.

She grew up in a family that loved music and encouraged her to compose music. She started singing at a tender age of four.

“I started singing as part of a church choir after my parents, David and Mildred Magwabeni, encouraged me to do so,” she said.

The EP consists of three tracks, namely: Asa Tutsheli, Mmawe and Vhalitsheni. It was produced by Begwa Ananias.

She completed her honours degree in environmental management and a postgraduate certificate education at University of Venda.

“I’m a teacher at Tshiungulela Secondary School,” she added.
