POLOKWANE – Tshivenda traditional music and Afro Soul artist, Musiwalo Nengudza, who is known as Sikheli Junior by his fans, appeals to Limpopo residents to vote for him in the upcoming South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA).
He recently released his new 14-track album, Muthu ndi Muya and was nominated for the Best Song of the Year category where he will face off against the likes of award-winning RnB musician, Vusi Nova, Nomatiti, Makhadzi and King Monada, among others.
Sikheli Junior said he is confident he will win the award with the support of his loyal fans. “I know I have true fans and people can expect originality, a cultured personality, and a killer performance from me,” he said.
“I am over the moon that my work is being recognised and this will definitely give me courage to go even further in the industry. I’m humbled and thankful for what has been going on in my life and I thank the almighty God who is making it all possible. I know I will win these awards with the support of the people of Limpopo.”
He told BONUS for him it is not about winning the award as he already has a chance to grab it because he believes in his music and the message it sends to his fans is clear so anything can happen. “It’s up to my fans to win this award. I feel honoured and am happy because if you can get recognition at such a big music awards, it means you’re working hard and the community is aware of what you’re doing,” he said.
