LIMPOPO – Mabasa has been nominated in the Best Female Artist/Group of the year category along with Buselaphi for Umakhandakhanda, Mmausi for Monna Oa Sokelwa, Izindlovukazi Zika Mageba Akusiwo Umunthi Umuntu.
In 2016, she won a Satma award under Best Xitsonga Artist category.
According to her, she is so humbled and excited to be nominated at this year’s Satma awards once more as it shows that her music is being recognised.
“I’m so happy to be nominated once again in a different category where I am competing against various artists from different cultures whereas last year I competed against artists from the same culture as mine,”she said.
Besides being a musician, Tirhani is a weather presenter at SABC 2 Xitsonga News. She also owns a Communications company called Humba Communications and a clothing label called Humba Clothing.
Under her communications company, Tirhani manages artist such as Phinda Marhungani and Tman Chauke.
Her artist, Phinda Marhungani, described her as one who is dedicated to her work and always goes out of her way to motivate artists to produce hit songs.
“She is a sweet and humble person who always encourages us to give 100% in our work,” he said.
