BONUS readers ask Energy Conversations host, Lethabo Ramokgopa, questions about herself.

POLOKWANE – Energy FM and BONUS joined forces to give our readers the opportunity to get to know the people behind their favourite radio shows and this week we chat with Energy Conversations host, Lethabo Ramokgopa.

1. How do you juggle your radio show that it’s politically motivated, yet you are a lady in a male-dominated area? Do your show’s requirements specifically need a certain qualification or does it also go with talent and passion? DJ The Saint Pablo in Sebayeng.

“Hi DJ The Saint. In 2003 I studied a bit of politics at Rand Afrikaans University, now University of Johannesburg. I fell in love with politics then and the interest has never died. The fact that it is a male-dominated area is my drive because I want to prove that women too are capable of achieving in every area a man can achieve in.”

2. Please share with us your best childhood memories. Ivy Selolo in Bloodriver.

“Hello Ivy. I was four years old when I was a flower girl at my uncle’s wedding. I felt so pretty and loved the attention I received, especially from the photographers. I enjoyed the singing and dancing and still enjoy singing and dancing today.”

3. If you could have anyone locked in a room so you could torment them for a day, who would you choose and how would you torment them? Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“It would have to be Hendrik Verwoerd, the Architect of Apartheid.

“I would torment him by kissing him silly the entire day because he hated black people.”

4. What type of music do you listen to? (Genre, artists, songs). Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“Hi there, Justice. I love African jazz. Some of my favourite artists are Salif Keita, Erik Paliani from Malawi and Femi and Fela Kuti from Nigeria.”

5. What is the longest you have gone without sleep? Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“I visited Barcelona Spain in 2006 for a weekend with a friend during a Barcelona soccer game and we arrived on a Friday evening, celebrated the entire night with the locals in preparation of the game on Saturday, then continued celebrating the team’s win the whole day and night on Saturday until we got on the bus back home to France on Sunday where I slept until Monday late afternoon.”

6. Which food do you enjoy most Lethabo, traditional or western? Justice Ngoepe from Moletjie Motinti.

“I mostly enjoy Asian Cuisine. I love my food hot and spicy.”
