Save the date for 2017 Provincial Education Summit

The Department of Education will host the 2017 Provincial Education Summit at a venue outside the city from 29 to 30 May.
The aim of this year’s summit is to assess the progress in the implementation of resolutions taken last year. The summit will also see the launch of the department’s Data Driven Decisions Programme.
Departmental Spokesperson Naledzani Rasila in a media statement said last year’s summit aimed at bringing all the education stakeholders, including practitioners, labour, institutions of higher learning and selected experts to forge a way to improve the quality of education in the povince. He further said a number of resolutions were taken at the summit including focussing on the roles of stakeholders in supporting education; teachers’ development and making sure learners play an active role in their education. Implementation of these resolutions was conducted in all the districts, Rasila said.
