Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA), Ndumiso Matlala resigned on Tuesday, barely 18 months since taking office.
Matlala was appointed in September 2015 after the departure of Nocks Seabi who is currently Provincial Secretary of the African National Congress.
LTA’s Company Secretary Bibi Kotsedi will take over as CEO on an interim basis while the agency is finalising the recruitment processes for Matlala’s replacement.
Asked what could have led to Matlala’s resignation, LTA Spokesperson, Mike Tauatsoala said Matlala left the agency for personal reasons. “We wish him well in his future endeavours. He was an approachable person. He left his mark at the agency. We had already seen his strides in marketing and he played a huge role in ensuring that Limpopo becomes known as a preferred tourism destination in Southern Africa,” Tauatsoala said.
