Singing songs of praise

Gospel singing sensation Thabelo Netshiunda's latest album release, His Glory, did not disappoint fans.

POLOKWANE – The album was released on Friday and is already taking the airwaves by storm.

Recorded live at Bethlehem Apostolic Church in Mulodi village late last year, the album boasts 18 tracks including Greater is the one in me, Ri a vha losha, Dzula kha nne, I am a new creation, and The devil won’t do me no harm.

Thabelo’s debut album, Kha rendwe Yesu, received several nominations at the 2013 Tshivenda Music Gospel Awards (TSHIMA) where she was nominated for Best Tshivenda Female Artist, Best Tshivenda Gospel Album, and Best Tshivenda Gospel Artist.

She is married to former Capricorn Voice sport journalist, Robert Netshiunda, who is also her manager.

Asked why she dumped the studio for a live project, Thabelo said she has grown as a musician and the time had come for her to unleash all what God has deposited in her soul.

“I decided to name the album His Glory because I want to worship God for who He is in my life. God has been good to me and with this worship-filled album I give Him the glory and the honour, it is for His glory that I am who I am today,” she explained.

His Glory was recorded under Thabelo’s record label, EveRob Music, and was produced by multi-award winning sound engineer, Job Thako. Thabelo, the first winner of Rofhiwa Manyaga’s Gospel Star Search in 2012, said the album was received well by the public and has secured bookings which she never thought would come her way.

“I can confirm that I will be ministering every weekend until after June. That just shows the impact my new project has made and I thank God for the grace,” she concluded.

The album features Rofhiwa Manyaga, Munangiwa Courage Dangale, and Phuluso Thenga.
