Police have launched a manhunt for two suspects who allegedly attacked Jacobus Nell and his wife on the farm Darina outside Letsitele early this morning (Wednesday).
Provincial Police Corporate Communications Head Motlafela Mojapelo said two suspects wearing balaclavas and armed with knives reportedly forced open a window at around 02:30 to gain entry to the house. “The couple was confronted and threatened with knives and the attackers demanded cash before tying their hands and feet with ropes. The suspects stole a hunting rifle, two cell phones, a DVD player and the television,” Mojapelo said.
He added that the victims were not injured but that a case of negligent possession of a firearm will be opened against Nell for keeping a firearm in contravention of the Firearms Control Act. A case of house robbery was also registered.
Anyone with information can contact the nearest Police station.
