National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) members in Limpopo are expected to continue with their strike despite a court interdict obtained earlier today (Thursday) restricting them from such action.

Nehawu Provincial Secretary Jacob Adams said the members will keep up the strike action, despite an interdict issued by the Polokwane High Court. Adams said they stick to their demands and the big issue currently is incentives promised to workers in accordance with a circular from the Department of Public Service and Administration and outstanding since 2012.

Some departments have paid, but others such as Health, Education, Agriculture, Sport, Arts and Culture, Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure have not yet paid and they owe the workers a huge amount of money,” Adams said.

He said the union stands 100% behind the workers.

We are ready to negotiate, we are available 24 hours out of 24 hours, “ he said.
