POLOKWANE – Aspiring actors are called upon to audition for well-known movie director Eliyah Kaisto Papole’s latest project.
Kaisto is the producer responsible for several well-known movies such as Nyiko (The Gift), Dikeledi, and 7 Women 1 Man which is set to be on our television screens soon.
He is looking to expand his reputation by making a sequel to 7 Women 1 Man for which he is hosting the auditions. Shooting for the sequel is set to start on 28 March and he is looking for seven men and seven women between the age of 23 and 38 to audition at the SABC studios on 25 February.
Kaisto is positively hopeful that he will find the ideal candidates in Limpopo.
“Limpopo has an array of talented artists which is why 80% of our cast will be made up of people from the province. We have to start unearthing talent in our own backyards and do our part to help develop the youth in the process,” he explained.
7 Women 1 Man will soon air on Mzansi Magic channels 161, 162, and 163.
“We have a contract with Mzansi Magic that will last a period of three years and right now they are showing the promos of the movie,” he added.
The popular movie stars the likes of Charles Maja, Doris Seale, and Kwena Mojela among others.
As he looks for talented men and women to expand the film, he said his focus will be on indigenous languages because they are often overlooked. “We are being versatile with accommodating the different languages that are found in the province. Most of the time our home languages are sidelined and as a filmmaker, I am planning to change that,” Kaisto concluded.
