The voice of fresh local talent

"My company's aim is to show other provinces that Limpopo also has talent"

LIMPOPO – Local director and promoter, Mojalefa Maboko,is the go-to guy if you want to get your brand widespread attention.

He is very passionate about promoting upcoming talent in Limpopo, and focuses on promoting local fashion designers, photographers and models through his company, Promote it Development and Projects, also known as Promote it Sales and Marketing Agency.

Mojafela hails from Makotopong in Limpopo and has a three-year-old son whom he loves dearly and would do anything for. “I am doing this for my son to have a better future and also to see others succeed.”

He says he has learned to help others to succeed in what they are passionate about and this is why he started the company.

“There are so many people out there who are extremely talented but do not know where to take their talent, or they don’t know whom to approach regarding their talent or work. I like to see others succeed with their talents, I help them grow within my company, and I have photographers and models whom I’ve taken under my wing.

Limpopo has a lot of talented individuals but many people outside Polokwane tend to look down on us because we are from Limpopo, and think we are not talented in any way.

“My company’s aim is to show other provinces, through my company, that Limpopo also has talent, though it can sometimes be hidden.”

Mojafela tells us that his aim in life and within his company is to grow models, photographers, promoters, do fashion shows, studio shoots, events management and videography. Promote it Agency hosted its first annual fashion show event at Sun Meropa last year to help designers showcase their brands, and they will be hosting another annual Limpopo fashion week at Sun Meropa soon.

“It is going to be a two-day event where slim models and plus-size models will be showcasing the different designers’ outfits, and I am in the process of getting the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture involved in handing out the awards to our winners at the end of the event,” he said.

His dream is to see all the talent in Limpopo succeed in the future. “This is not likely where we find people wanting to promote other talents, because nowadays most people see themselves succeeding and choose to ignore other talents out there. My aim is for others to also be recognised and noticed.”

He says the second annual Limpopo fashion week will be hosted soon to give upcoming fashion designers an opportunity on the world stage to showcase their upcoming brands, to get connected with fashion designers in the industry, as well as models and photographers.

Mojafela’s dream is to be up there with other talented individuals, and he says fashion designers are more than welcome to join the second annual fashion week.
