Incy Wincy iAfrika?

Review experimented and tested a theory out. Watch our videos and tell us if you agree.

POLOKWANE – From a young age, most people are taught nursery rhymes to aid development.

Apart from nursery rhymes, children begin learning the words and the tune to the national anthem from a young age as well.

When pointed out to a theory that suggests the first few lines of the nursery rhyme Incy Wincy Spider has the same tune as our national anthem Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika, Review decided to test the theory by having several learners from Ooskool sing both tunes.

Take part in our experiment:

1. Watch Ooskool learners sing the National Anthem

2. Watch Ooskool learners sing ‘Incy Wincy Spider’

3. Watch the combined video

Do you think there is a similarity in the two tunes? Drop us an email or a Facebook comment and let us know.
