POLOKWANE – The organiser of Miss Vona Lodge, Raesetja Maja, calls on young girls who think they have the X-factor to enter the Miss Vona Lodge pageant which will be held at Vona Lodge on Saturday.
Registration fee is R250. Contestants must be between the ages of 13 to 25 years, bookings for the audition are essential.
According to Raesetja, one of the aims is to uplift young and aspiring models and to boost their self-esteem.
“I just want to empower young girls in the Polokwane area so they can stay out of mischief. We want to empower them and show them it doesn’t matter where you come from, you can still shine,” she explains.
She says the main aim of this event is to raise funds to finance the future plans of a 20-year-old orphan, Julia Mothiba from Seshego, Zone 1, to develop and assist other youths to find themselves and keep them away from the streets and alcohol abuse. “We realised an idle mind is a dangerous one. The winners will walk away with a flat screen TV set, laptop, cell phone, microwave oven, accommodation at Vona Lodge, and a Vona Lodge T-shirt.
